AAPA is the voice of the PA profession in the nation’s capital. Physician assistants have an important message for policymakers about increasing access to high quality, cost effective health care. Health care reform, improvements to Medicare, strengthening federal support for PA education programs – these and other issues are on the AAPA legislative agenda.
PAs for a Healthy America: Health Care Reform is a special initiative focused on health care reform. It includes AAPA Advocacy Connection, a weekly message from the AAPA government affairs department highlighting issues and activities of interest. Other features include political and educational resources for PAs and information on state health care reform initiatives.
- Members, both practicing and student PAs, are encouraged to participate in our advocacy efforts by coming to Washington as part of the Congressional Visit Program,
- attending Adventures in Lobbying 2010, and
- contributing to the AAPA Political Action Committee.
