DVT Awareness Month

Two million Americans are affected by deep vein thrombosis (DVT) annually. A subset will develop a pulmonary embolism (PE) and of those 200,000 die annually. March is DVT Awareness Month, a multi-faceted campaign aimed at raising awareness among consumers, health care professionals and policy makers about DVT and PE on a national and local level. AAPA is a member of the Coalition to Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis. To learn more go to www.preventdvt.org.
